A little over a year ago I had decided to move to Camarillo falling in love with its old town charm and friendly neighborhoods. One thing that I was always in search for was a place to invite friends to enjoy a glass of wine and a few small bites (and dessert of course.) Just over a week ago, December 8th to be exact.. Relm (Relax. Enjoy. Laugh, and More.) Wine and Beer Bistro in Camarillo opened its doors and I couldn't be more excited.. and slightly obsessed.
As you walk though the doors you realize that you've just discovered the perfect little bistro with a really cool industrial vibe of intimate and communal seating. It's the kind of place you can catch up with old friends or strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you and make new ones.
The back wall is a cool chalkboard picture frame displaying some of the available wines with a simple description of each bottle which adds a fun twist to selecting a glass (personal fav- Valckenberg Gewurtztraminer).
I had the pleasure of meeting owners Valeri and Patrick Mervyn who shared with me the process from deciding to open their doors to the story behind some of the details of the bistro which made me fall in love with it even more. Beer enthusiasts will love this place with most of the beers on tap local to the 805 such as Made West and Topa Topa. And when you get a little hungry they've got a yummy selection of noshes that are perfectly paired with their selection of wine and beer.
Live music on Friday evenings sets the perfect ambiance to ending your week and leading into the weekend a little more relaxed.. I can't wait to make Relm my weekly go to spot. Cheers!
